Project Forward is a vocational program for students with intellectual disabilities who have a strong desire to work and gain vocational skills. Students must be motivated to become better prepared for a vocation and should express excitement about the process of learning. Students must have the ability to follow college campus rules and exhibit appropriate social behavior. Successful Project Forward students have the capacity to navigate the campus with minimal supervision and have good attendance records.

Yes! Project Forward was proud to receive a Comprehensive Transition Program designation from the Federal Government, which allows us to offer Federal Pell Grants to those who qualify. Depending on eligibility, a Pell Grant can help to pay for a portion of your attendance in our program.

Project Forward is a two-year program. All students must complete both years to be eligible to receive their certificate of completion or Comprehensive Transition Program Certificate.
Project Forward is a full year program, meaning that students begin a year-long curriculum in September and conclude in May each year. For that reason, students cannot enter the program at a mid-year point, as they will have missed an entire semester’s worth of learning.
Yes! Once you have completed your two-year program with Project Forward, you can come back for an additional certification in a different area of study from the last concentration taken.
The Project Forward program is an in person, on the ground, program located at Cape Cod Community College. Our classes take place in classrooms on campus and internship assignments take place out in our local community.
All Project Forward Certificate of Completion students must complete 30 hours of internship work over the course of a year. Comprehensive Transition Program students must complete 50 hours. This typically equates to approximately 2 hours a week.

Yes! All Project Forward students are encouraged to get involved. There are many clubs on campus and weekly activities in which Project Forward students participate. Students are also eligible to use all campus facilities once enrolled, including the student center, library, theater, and life fitness center. Project Forward also holds its own internal events throughout the year such as movie nights and dances.
